Copy-Rite: A Story
Our Past
In 1968, the need for fast copies out of an architectural office started the conversation to open Copy-Rite.
Rick White and James Porter started Copy-Rite with a copier and a blue-line printer - printing plans and drawings - and making a bunch of walk-in copies.
The business grew thanks to local customers putting trust into Copy-Rite.
Rick bought out James, and Rick had a son, David, who grew up in the print shop.
Rick, David, and several employees moved the business out of an office space on Noland Rd to a 5000 square foot shop down the street off of Hwy 40.
David took ownership and as times changed - 5 off-set presses turned into 3 digital presses.
Our
Future
In 2022, David decided to retire. Copy-Rite was sold to Bridget Schumer. Bridget was introduced to Copy-Rite as a random walk-in customer who was more familiar with livestock than a printer. Bridget was a freelancer who brokered printing from Copy-Rite throughout Missouri.
Bridget will move Copy-Rite to downtown Lee’s Summit at the end of August 2022, and looks forward to serving customers for another 40+ years.
